Riding with the Flow
One of the oldest forms of transportation are boats. Before there were roads, there were rivers and large bodies of water. So people would ride on the boats to go from one place to another.
First, I tried rafting, where you ride on a large inflatable boat with other people and everyone paddles. It was fun but it requires teamwork. But I wanted to do something on my own, to be able to control it and be responsible for myself.
So I learned kayaking.
For sure, it was so much scarier riding a boat on your own. You grip onto your paddle as its your only lifeline. You lose it and you’re screwed. There’s so much skill to be learned just to maneuver yourself through the water.
From white water rivers to placid lakes, and even paddling the sea, the world of kayaking is so huge! One thing I love about it is the surprise that comes everytime I get to explore while paddling. Definitely, there are places that you can only get to by riding on a kayak.
